Tamas Kadar finally back in action
Tamas back to fitness.
Tamas Kadar has finally returned to footballing action after being sidelined since January with a hamstring strain.
Kadar pulled on his international shirt whilst playing for Hungary against China yesterday in the Toulon tournament. Playing at centre-back it looks as though the 21-year-old could be back on track with regard to fitness as he came through the full 80-minute match unscathed.
It’s about time Kadar had some luck and managed to remain injury free for a bit. It seems that ever since he arrived at Newcastle he has fallen victim to one injury after another ranging from hamstring strains to back trouble to a broken leg. It’s time for that to change.
Of course certain injuries can’t be helped, and although I’m not a doctor I would suggest that his injuries so far have just been ‘one of them things’ as opposed to an alarming trend. I mean you can’t really legislate for a broken leg, a hamstring can go at anytime with any player. The back injury may need to be watched though…
At the age of 21 Tamas should be knocking on the door of the first team. In my mind he has the quality to do so, and with Sol Campbell now free from life at St James’ Park there is an ideal chance for the lad to step up into a more prominent role within the first team squad.
With two more games coming up for Kadar I’d like to hope that he can come through them without picking up any more injuries. Next season could be vitally important for the young Magyar so we don’t want to see yet more injury setbacks for the lad.
So what do you think? Should Kadar be given the nod to be moved up to the senior squad full time? He’ll need a space in the 25-man squad this time around so decisions will need to be made. Would you be happy with a central defensive quartet of Fabricio Coloccini, Steven Taylor, Mike Williamson and Tamas Kadar?
